Proud Sponsors: Literacy Counts at the Chester Standard Education Awards
Literacy Counts was a proud sponsor of the Chester Standard Education Awards on Friday, 12th July 2024! Hosting the event was the wonderful Lucy Meacock from ITV Granada. Gareth Davies, our CEO, presented the awards for the categories of Primary School Teacher and Primary School of the Year.
Claire and Louise from the consultancy team, and Lisa from the product team, joined Gareth to represent Literacy Counts for an inspiring evening of fun, recognition, and celebration of our amazing local schools, educators, and learners.
Worthy Winners
The winner of the Primary School of the Year Award was Cherry Grove Primary School, and the winner of the Primary School Teacher of the Year was Laura Hughes of Parklands Community Primary School. The award was received by Kim Cairns on behalf of Laura Hughes. Both of these awards were sponsored by Literacy Counts and presented by our CEO, Gareth Davies.
‘How rewarding it was for Literacy Counts to champion the children, teachers, and leaders of Cheshire schools. This fantastic night was kicked off by the incredible Rachael Borman and her wonderful team of children from ‘Amasing’.
What a privilege to sponsor and present these awards for Primary School Teacher and Primary School of the Year. A big congratulations to Parklands Primary School and Cherry Grove Primary School. These schools, educators, and leaders have done themselves proud. We are grateful to have supported so many of the schools in attendance over the years with our literacy resources and services. We look forward to more next year!’

Fun, Recognition, and Celebration of Local Schools
Lisa Miller, part of our wonderful product team, told me about her lovely experience at the event.
‘Last Friday, I had the pleasure of attending the Chester Standard Education Awards. It was great to meet and celebrate local educators who use and love our resources. The atmosphere was upbeat and lively, making the celebration truly meaningful. Lucy Meacock did an excellent job hosting the event, and it was a fantastic way to wrap up the academic year. I'm really looking forward to future events like this.’
