‘Inspectors will make a judgement on the quality of education by evaluating the extent to which a rigorous approach to the teaching of reading develops learners’ confidence and enjoyment in reading.’
Is reading an area of focus for your class/school?
Are you keen to implement a whole class approach which explicitly teaches all aspects of the reading curriculum?
This training will explore the development of reading and make reference to expectations set out in the National Curriculum and Standards and Testing Agency. More importantly, it will enable delegates to ensure they have:
appropriate provision for reading at both Greater Depth and National Standards
confidence in planning and delivering effective shared reading sessions, using appropriate texts and resources
the key strategies, skills and knowledge required to teach reading decoding and comprehension
This highly interactive professional development opportunity will give practitioners the confidence and support they need to embrace the challenges of the National Curriculum for Reading.
