Writing Support Counts

At Literacy Counts we offer a wide range of professional development opportunities to support schools in improving writing outcomes for children. Termly moderation sessions, run by experienced STA approved moderators, ensure accurate and consistent assessments across school as well as providing creative ideas for addressing gaps.

Working with outstanding practitioners and trialled in schools, we have developed a range of high-quality units of work using language-rich vehicle texts. These enrich the teaching of writing, contextualise spelling, grammar and punctuation and enable children to reach ARE and Greater Depth in writing. This is achieved through supporting practitioners and leaders by embedding their understanding of ‘reading into writing’. Within our in-school support, we can model a range of writing skills and work alongside colleagues on analysing pupil outcomes so that each child’s potential is realised.

  • X1 day team teaching
  • X2 day observation of Teaching and Learning

  • X4 delegate places on additional Continual Professional Development courses
